Sailing through Light Fading to. Night
In "Sailing through Light, Fading to Night," the traditional illumination of distant stars is replaced by traces of our creations in the sky. As the river flows towards the light, it ultimately returns to the night in the vast, untouched ocean, far from human civilization.
This installation art piece collects and transforms light pollution data from the night skies along the Yangtze River. The data is used to generate a gradient image of light, displayed on indoor screens to recreate the outdoor light pollution within our sleeping spaces. By lying beneath this installation, we are invited to experience and contemplate the dialectical impact of urbanization on our lives and environments.
